While the events that Good Society depicts are generally commonplace (well, for the Regency), they form the subtle background for the jostling of status, wealth, and affection by which the game’s characters measure both their hopes, and fears.

Good Society is an rpg for running games set in Regency Britain and following authors like Jane Austen, Kickstarted in 2018.

The Regency Period is about 1300 years late for our game and several centuries past the last cultural touchstones that can be called medieval - so why is this game here?

Good Society’s focused on the gentry, as are we. It’s the gentry a millennia after our gentry, but many of the stories can still resonate. It’s the petty struggles for status and maintenance of face amid a world that can feel crushing despite how objectively luxurious it is relative to the common man.
