Why frown upon a friend? Few live that have too many
Edwin Arlington Robinson, Lancelot
A special kind of Motif to track a few additional details when we’re talking about a squire, handmaiden, or some other non-player tag-along character.
- The Heraldry of the character. Usually to help remind you who’s going to be happy or upset about how you treated this companion1.
- Their Role - i.e. are they a squire, a handmaiden… so you don’t forget why you brought them along.
- Their Name… for obvious reasons.
- Their Religious Tradition, Childhood Home and Year of Birth for the same reasons we have it on the character sheet.
- A big open WIP spot2, but broadly I think this is going to house a kind of special Clock as you progress developing your relationship with them and maybe settling core memories, allowing you to shape them somewhat.

The back of the sheet is a graveyard, because the other special thing about these Motifs compared to a sword, etc. is that these can die. Here’s the place to write down all the details of that. Where did they die? How did they die?
Why did they die?

Other than that, these act like any other Motif.

Also, it’ll often be another player’s household - just by how players like to integrate that way. ↩

But I specifically wanted this to be a larger piece of paper than most Motifs, at a half-page lengthwise you can put it horizontally behind a character sheet with only the most immediate details (the coat of arms) peeking out., to draw out when you need it. ↩
