A pretty major world alphabet - though more common in the eastern side of the Mediterranean. While it’s not a common script in Britain, far travelers1 will often be familiar with it. While the Roman Empire of the East is distant, it’s a shining beacon of what Rome used to be - political and culturally significant and a source of a lot of philosophical, scientific and especially theological discussion.
