“Come now!” replied Sir Gawain. “What do you take me for? Truly, if I had companions in the battle and we came out on top, what praise and credit would it bring me?”
First Continuation of Perceval
Or whatever that player is called. I like running campaigns; I’m making the game so I could run sessions in it. I suspect this kind of design is pretty common - it’s simpler to run the rules you write than for someone else to run them1.
But I don’t want to be the only person who could run this game. Partially because making sure it’s accessible means it’s clearer for myself, partially because it allows it to be more thoroughly tested and evaluated by others, but also partially because The Great Pendragon Campaign is a really long campaign with several different eras of play, and I think one way to make that changing of the years impactful and richen the work in general is for the “management” of it to pass to different players.
